June 2007 Update on Lake Gatlin
I have been out of touch for some time now, but I am back. I was able to retire back in March of ’04, but found myself doing more projects than when I was working full time. My last letter posted on the website was Oct. of ’05. In Jan. of ’06 I took a new position downtown and found myself immersed in work. I could always find an excuse not to write a new letter to the many homeowners on our lake. Well, the procrastination is over and I am happy to report the current updates.
If you will check out each of the sections of our website, you will find an update on each issue. I plan on doing this on a quarterly basis. If you have any questions about the lake, please send me an email.
Some homeowners may wonder about the money that was collected many years ago for canal dredging and lake improvements. The balance is safe and in the bank. The money is being used to pay for the website and remains available to help us keep this lake as healthy as possible.
I continue to serve on the Lake Conway Water & Navigation Control District Advisory Board for the County Commissioners (Conway Nav Board). I also continue to do the lake water testing and sampling for EPD. With your support, we will continue to see improvements to Lake Gatlin.
